What is QRIS? QRIS is a locally-implemented Quality Rating Improvement System, which: helps to connect parents and families to high-quality early learning and care programs and provides resources and support to participating local early learning and care programs, so they may provide infants, toddlers, and preschool-age children with quality early learning experiences.
Why does quality matter? High-quality early learning and care programs can have a lifelong, positive impact on young children and their families. Research continues to show that children in quality early learning and care programs are more likely to succeed in school and less likely to drop out, need remedial education, or end up in prison.
